Landing Pages

What they are…

Landing Pages are also called Destination Pages or Lead Capture Pages.   These pages are where click-through traffic is channeled to.  The source of the traffic can be Search Engine Ads, Organic SEO page results, Social Media content or promotions, or e-mail campaigns.  Typically the design of the Landing Page will be consistent with the branding of the website or particular promotions. Usually, a Template is used to create new versions of Landing Pages for future campaigns. Almost without exception, the Landing Page will include a Lead Generation form to capture some amount of contact information from the prospective customer.

Why you need them…

You don’t just need one, you need many different Landing Pages.  Actually, each marketing campaign should have its own dedicated Landing Page for the purpose of segregated analytics to best measure your campaign’s performance.  The absolute worst thing to do is channel all of your marketing traffic directly to the home page of your website.  Why?  Because sometimes its not possible to determine what the source of the traffic is.  How are you going to know which marketing channel is working best if all your traffic gets directed to the same page?
